Each year the University of Minnesota School of Social Work offers a variety of exceptional continuing education courses. Classes include content for professionals working with children and families, clinical mental health, community practice, trauma, ethics, supervision, as well as health, disabilities, and aging.

If you are looking for courses that we have offered in the past, you can view the archive. This will list class names, dates, clinical clock hours/CEUs, descriptions, and the learning objectives.

We offer classes during UMN winter break in January, UMN spring break in March, and UMN summer break June-August each year. You can sign up for our email list to be notified when courses are available each session.

Thank you for joining us for the Summer 2021 Online Continuing Education Series! Stay tuned for announcements about upcoming classes.

Each class this year will be held via Zoom. Participant numbers will be capped to ensure a personalized learning experience and there will be numerousĀ opportunities for engagement (e.g. small group discussions, role plays, case studies). As such, learners should prepare for active participation. We ask that students keep their cameras on as much as they are able, while understanding that it may not be possible to keep cameras on throughout the entire class. Rest assured that we will take many breaks throughout each class to help assuage Zoom fatigue.
