Lauren Nietz, MSW, LICSW
Lauren W. Nietz is a therapist, trainer, and consultant at Washburn Center for Children. She has over a decade of experience providing therapy to adults, children, groups, and families who are struggling with the effects of trauma. Drawing on her experience as an in-home family therapist and day treatment supervisor, Lauren provides training and consultation to caregivers and clinicians working with young children and often utilizes Developmental Repair, a treatment model that was developed at Washburn Center. At the core of Developmental Repair is the assumption that all children learn about the world through their primary relationships. Lauren’s informative trainings offer strategies to help adults partner with children to repair social and emotional learning and increase developmental capacities. She has presented at local, statewide, and national conferences on treating childhood trauma. Lauren is a graduate of the Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Certificate Program in the University of Minnesota Institute of Child Development and is a member of the Community Faculty in the UMN School of Social Work.
